Bowling

Today bowls is played and enjoyed by all ages; youthful enthusiasm is certainly helpful but more so the skills developed by experience. We are fortunate that in Blackwaterfoot we have the only carpeted rink on the Isle of Arran, it is a great, even, surface ideal for the novice or the more advanced bowler to develop a consistent delivery without having to cope with the frustration that the vagaries of a grass rink can produce.

The proximity of the rink to the golf course is also an advantage because the two games have many features in common, judgement of line and length being the most obvious.

The club at Blackwaterfoot has been in existence since 1980 and has, in all of that time, welcomed new members and visitors. We are happy to offer coaching and loan of equipment if you want to give bowls a try, come and join us at our open sessions on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 2:00 p.m.

For further information telephone 01770 860307 or 01770 860749.

We look forward to seeing you.

You can organise your own game at the bowling green  –   you can hire bowling equipment from the Bowling Club, for further details give them a call on the phone numbers above.
